Briefly about non-City Year life

Briefly about non-City Year life: my roommate and housemates are gems. It is seriously amazing how wonderful the environment at home is. This is such such such such a blessing given the chaotic nature of the work day. Our three housemates who lived here last year as well are very involved at a church called Tenth Presbyterian. Swade (my roommate and fellow CY corps member) and I have done some church hopping, but we really like Tenth and their music program is phenomenal!

I have been exploring the farmers markets and starting relationships there, which is way fun! There are two vendors in particular that I'm on a first name basis with. There is so much sun here in Philly; this is good for the soul! I have found some nice places to run (the Schuylkill river trail and South Street)  and a few running buddies. I'm also having great conversations with some friends interested in the philosophy of language.

All in all, life is good. I am challenged in new ways multiple times a day, but there is also at least one magically wonderful thing about each day as well. I am glad to be in the city!
